The people here smile like playing music is the only thing they want to do in the world. And the woman on stage - she hasn't experienced any of the things she's singing about, but she sings like she has - like she's you and me and everyone else in the room.
In life we only have a specific amount of awesomeness. Most people save it for friends, and people in relationships save it for their significant others (it's why couples are usually so lame unless you're in the relationship). Musicians, and specifically jazz musicians, seem to save it for that five minutes of spotlight that they get. That or their up to their eyeballs in awesomeness. Either way, I wish I was that cool for any amount of time.
